RELIGIOUS AND CIVILIZATIONAL STUDIES
The Faculty of religious and civilizational studies was established with a unique and significant motive of inculcating spiritual values and ethics among the students with religious perspective in the current era of technology. The department is providing a course in ethics and values for all the streams.
The faculty of religious and civilizational studies further comprises of two departments:-

Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies

Department of Sikh Historiography
These departments would emphasise on teaching and encouraging research in different aspects of Sikh studies like:

Sikh Philosophy (Ontology, Epistemology).

Sikh Ethics.

Social Philosophy of Sikhism.

The Banikars of Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Gurus, Hindu Saints, Muslim Sufis, Gursikhs).

Sikh History with particular reference to the sources (contemporaneous Persian and others) on Sikh History and Sikh Holy Shrines and Historical Places associated with Sikhism.

Sikh Music, Sikh Architecture, Sikh Aesthetics, Sikh Paintings, Sikh Ceremonies, Sikh Way of Life, Sikh Martial Arts, Sikh Diaspora and Sikhism and Interreligious Dialogue.

Universal Concerns of Sikhism in relation to the present-day challenges and imperatives (Ecology, Human Rights, Feminism, empowerment of the Dalits, Religious, Social and Political, Pluralism, etc.).

Role of Sikhism in the emerging third millennium civilization and in evolving multi-civilizational dispensation.

Translation of the sacred Bani in major languages of the world.
Creation of all-inclusive website on Sikhism.Preparation of Audio/Video tapes, CDs, DVDs, VCDs, TV films and other multi-media material for propagation of Sikhism
Fellowships:
The department is providing research opportunities in the area of Religious and Civilizational Studies and fellowships in the following areas:-
