Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is a group of emerging technologies in which the structure of matter is controlled at the nanometer scale, the scale of small numbers of atoms, to produce novel materials and devices that have useful and unique properties. Nanotechnology entails the application of fields of science as diverse as surface science, organic chemistry, molecular biology, semiconductor physics, microfabrication, etc. As nanotech continues to develop, consumers will see it being used for several different purposes. This technology may be used in energy production, medicine, biomaterials and electronics, as well as other commercial uses in years to come.
Considering the importance & wide applications of nanotechnology, a unique branch of learning, this subject has been introduced by Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. The Department of Nanotechnology has been recognized as one of the core competence centres for excellence in academia as well as research. Nanotechnology is an inherently inter-disciplinary field and bridges physics, biology, material science, and chemistry
